London Junk Removal Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which London Junk Removal provides waste and junk collection services to domestic and commercial customers within our service area. By booking a collection or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions shall have the meanings set out below:

Customer means any individual, business, organisation or other entity that requests or receives services from London Junk Removal.

Services means the waste, junk or rubbish collection, removal, loading, transportation, and related activities provided by London Junk Removal.

Waste means the items to be removed, including household waste, commercial waste, furniture, appliances, garden waste and other materials, as agreed at the time of booking.

Service Area means the geographical area within which London Junk Removal offers its waste collection and removal services, as described in our service information and as may be updated from time to time.

2. Scope of Services

London Junk Removal provides on-demand and scheduled waste collection and junk removal services for residential and commercial customers within our service area. Our services typically include loading of waste materials onto our vehicles, transportation of those materials, and disposal or recycling through authorised facilities.

The specific services to be provided, including the type and approximate volume of waste, the collection address, and any access requirements, will be agreed at the time of booking. We reserve the right to refuse to collect certain materials that we deem hazardous, prohibited, unsafe, unlawful, or unsuitable for our vehicles or staff.

3. Booking Process

Customers may request a booking by telephone, email, online form, or other booking channels we make available. All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by London Junk Removal.

When you make a booking, you will be asked to provide accurate information, including your name or company details, contact information, collection address, preferred date and time window, and a description of the waste to be collected. You are responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is complete and accurate. Any quote or estimated price will be based on the information you provide.

Your booking will be confirmed once we have accepted your request and provided a confirmation by email, text message, or other written communication. We may also confirm an estimated arrival time window. Any times given are estimates only and are not guaranteed, but we will use reasonable efforts to attend within the agreed window.

4. Estimates, Quotes and Pricing

Prices for our waste collection services are usually based on factors such as the volume, weight, type and accessibility of waste, the number of items, labour time required, and the location within our service area. We may provide a guide price or estimate in advance, based on your description or photographs of the waste.

All estimates are given in good faith but do not constitute a fixed price unless expressly stated as a fixed quotation. The final price payable may differ if, upon arrival, the waste is materially different from that described at the time of booking, if access is more difficult, or if additional labour or time is required. Our team will assess the waste on arrival and confirm the final price before starting work.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are in pounds sterling and inclusive of applicable taxes that we are required to charge. Any congestion charges, parking charges, tolls, or similar third party costs reasonably incurred in delivering the service may be added to the final invoice where applicable.

5. Payments and Invoicing

Payment is due on completion of the collection service, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing before the service date. We accept payment by the methods indicated in our service information, which may include cash, card payments, or bank transfer.

Where services are provided to commercial customers or account holders, we may issue an invoice payable within a specified period. Payment terms will be stated on the invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest and recovery costs on late payments in accordance with applicable UK law.

Ownership of any waste collected transfers to London Junk Removal when the waste is loaded onto our vehicle, provided that full payment is made or valid credit terms exist. Until payment is received in full, we may retain or, where lawful and practical, return waste to the customer.

6. Cancellations and Amendments

Customers may cancel or amend a booking by contacting us as soon as possible before the scheduled collection time. For standard bookings, we will generally accept cancellations or changes without charge if made by a reasonable cut-off time before the scheduled service, as specified in our service information.

If you cancel or significantly amend a booking after the cut-off time, or if our team attends the collection address and is unable to carry out the work due to circumstances within your control, we may charge a cancellation fee or a call-out fee to cover our costs and lost time. Such circumstances include, without limitation, lack of access to the property, incorrect address details, no authorised person on site to approve the work or pricing, or waste that differs substantially from the description given.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking due to operational reasons, adverse weather, vehicle breakdown, staff illness, safety concerns, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you as soon as practicable and offer an alternative time. We will not be liable for any losses arising from such cancellation or rescheduling, other than refunding any pre-payment already made for services not delivered.

7. Access, Parking and Customer Obligations

You must ensure that we have safe and reasonable access to the waste at the agreed collection address during the scheduled time window. This includes arranging any necessary permissions for access, providing correct keys or entry codes where applicable, and ensuring that any security or concierge staff are informed of our visit.

You are responsible for making sure that parking is available as close as reasonably possible to the access point. Any parking restrictions should be communicated in advance. You will be responsible for any parking tickets or penalties caused by your failure to provide accurate information or suitable arrangements.

Waste should be clearly identifiable and separated as agreed at the time of booking. You must not include prohibited items where we have indicated that these will not be accepted. You are responsible for ensuring that any sharp, fragile or hazardous elements are highlighted to our team before work begins.

8. Prohibited and Restricted Items

Certain types of waste cannot be collected or may be subject to special handling requirements due to health, safety or legal regulations. Prohibited or restricted items may include, but are not limited to, hazardous chemicals, medical waste, asbestos, pressurised gas cylinders, explosives, certain electrical items, liquids, oils and fuels, and any other materials specified as hazardous or controlled waste under UK law.

If you are unsure whether particular items can be collected, you must contact us in advance for clarification. We reserve the right to refuse collection of any items that we consider unsafe, hazardous, unlawfully held, or not previously disclosed.

9. Waste Handling and Environmental Responsibility

London Junk Removal is committed to responsible waste management. All waste we collect will be transported to licensed facilities for disposal, recycling, or recovery in compliance with applicable UK waste management regulations.

Where reasonably practicable, we will seek to divert waste from landfill by prioritising reuse, recycling, and recovery routes. However, we cannot guarantee that any specific item or proportion of waste will be recycled, as this depends on the material type, condition and local processing options.

10. Duty of Care and Waste Regulations

We operate in accordance with UK waste duty of care obligations and related legislation. We will handle, transport and transfer waste in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and will only use authorised facilities for final treatment or disposal.

Commercial customers may be required to provide certain information about the nature of the waste, including, where necessary, written descriptions or documentation to enable us to comply with our legal obligations. Failure to provide accurate information may result in refusal of service or additional charges.

Upon request, and where required by law, we can provide evidence of appropriate registration or documentation relating to our waste management activities.

11. Customer Representations and Warranties

By engaging our services, you confirm and warrant that you are either the owner of the waste to be removed or are authorised by the owner to arrange its removal. You also warrant that the waste does not contain any prohibited or undisclosed hazardous materials and that it may be lawfully collected, transported and disposed of by us.

You agree to indemnify London Junk Removal against any claims, losses, damages, penalties or expenses that we incur as a result of your breach of these warranties, including where we unknowingly handle hazardous or unlawful materials based on incorrect or incomplete information provided by you.

12. Liability and Limitations

We will exercise reasonable care and skill in providing our services. However, except as expressly provided in these Terms and Conditions, all warranties, conditions and other terms implied by statute or common law are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to the foregoing, we shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or loss of opportunity, arising out of or in connection with our services or these Terms and Conditions.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with any single booking or service shall be limited to the total amount paid or payable by you for that specific service, except where a higher limit is required by law.

You are responsible for removing or safeguarding any items, fixtures, fittings or surfaces that may be at risk of damage during the removal process. We are not liable for normal wear and tear, minor scuffs, or damage that could reasonably arise when moving bulky or heavy items, provided we have exercised reasonable care and skill.

13. Insurance

London Junk Removal maintains appropriate insurance cover for its operations, including public liability insurance, in line with industry practice. Details of our insurance cover are available upon request. Our liability will not exceed the levels of cover provided by our insurance policies, subject always to the statutory rights of consumers and mandatory legal requirements.

14. Events Beyond Our Control

We shall not be in breach of these Terms and Conditions nor liable for any delay in performing, or failure to perform, any of our obligations where such delay or failure results from events, circumstances or causes beyond our reasonable control. Such events may include, without limitation, extreme weather, traffic disruption, accidents, strikes, lock-outs, civil unrest, public health emergencies, or failures of utility services.

15. Complaints and Disputes

If you have any concerns or complaints about our services, you should contact us as soon as possible, providing details of the issue and any supporting information. We will investigate and use reasonable efforts to resolve the matter promptly and fairly.

Where a dispute cannot be resolved through our internal process, you and we agree to attempt to settle the dispute by negotiation in good faith before pursuing any formal legal proceedings.

16. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operational needs, legal requirements or other relevant circumstances. Any updated terms will be published in our service information and will apply to bookings made after the date of publication. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.

17. Data Protection and Privacy

We collect and use personal information relating to our customers in order to manage bookings, provide services, process payments, and communicate with you. We will handle personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws and our privacy practices. By using our services, you consent to such use of your information for these purposes.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and London Junk Removal each agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter or formation.

19. General Provisions

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable by a court or other competent authority, such provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, lawful and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision shall be deemed deleted, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

No failure or delay by London Junk Removal in exercising any right or remedy under these Terms and Conditions shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy, nor shall it prevent or restrict any further exercise of that or any other right or remedy.

These Terms and Conditions constitute the entire agreement between you and London Junk Removal in relation to the provision of our services, and supersede all prior agreements, understandings or arrangements, whether written or oral, relating to the same subject matter.
